The Kymin & West House: Fragments of The Past

A Chris Riley History Talk

Time & Location

19 May 2022, 19:00 – 21:00

St Augustine's Parish Hall, Albert Rd, Penarth CF64, UK

About the Event

Chris is a Local Historian and PCS Committee Member well known for his informative and entertaining talks to local societies.

This is his first time presenting to us and he will be talking about “The Kymin and West House: fragments of the past”, considering the buildings, their history and why they matter.

The Kymin is considered a Penarth treasure , West House rather less so.  But both are exceptional. The talk will tell a  story full of farmers, smugglers, Cardiff toffs, politicians and businessmen and show how these two buildings and their inhabitants reflected the changing fortunes of the village and the town and are among the few survivors  of a past landscape otherwise almost completely lost.

Entry is free to members and £2.00 for non members, tea and coffee will be served from 6.30PM

Please RSVP to reserve your place.
