Penarth Yacht Club, The Esplanade, Penarth, Glamorgan, Penarth CF64 3AU, UK

About the Event

Following the very popular talk by Alan Thorne on the 16th of January, the Yacht Club will be hosting a further series of talks as shown on the poster below. These talks are being organised by the Yacht Club in collaboration with the Penarth Civic Society.

The first in this new series will be a follow on from the first talk in which Alan had delved into the archives of the Yacht Club and the history of boating in Penarth, the building of the original club and subsequent extensions and talked about significant past members and how strictly membership was controlled, with only the most “respectable” of people, with the “correct” social background being admitted. This second talk promises to be an equally illuminating account of the development of what is now an iconic element of Penarth's heritage.

Booking details for the April and May talks coming soon.
