About the Event

Neil is a PCS Committee Member and coordinates the Friends of St. Joseph’s Park subgroup.

In his professional capacity he is Director and Consultant Clinical Lead at Veterans’ NHS Wales, an NHS Wales out-patient service that provides assessment and treatment for ex-military personnel with service-related mental health problems.

The presentation will include a brief overview of Veterans’ NHS Wales first 13 years, before describing Neil’s deployment whilst serving in the Reserves with 203 (Welsh) Field Hospital between Oct 2013 and Jan 2014, on Operation Herrick 19a to Afghanistan and his role within the army led Field Mental Health Team.

Neil will finish with brief description of the research he has been involved in as part of Cardiff University, Traumatic Stress Research Group which has tested novel psychological intervention for the treatment of PTSD.
