About the Event

Penarth Civic Society Visit to Barry Recycling Centre

Wednesday 25th February at 2.00PM

Host: Colin Smith, Head of Neighbourhood Services

This trip is strictly for members only and limited to 20 people, due to a lack of space at the unit.

Members will be treated to a talk on the work that the recycling team is engaged in. We will then have a tour around the facility to find out how the various sorts of recycled items are sorted and processed before being sent out to the Vale of Glamorgan's customers who use the processed waste.

There is a surprising amount of automation and members will discover that a lot more waste is recycled than they may have previously thought.
