ABOUT THE SUBJECT

Discovering the history and buildings of one of the oldest parts of our town, Cogan. Alan will tell us about the farm, brickworks, ancient Cogan Pill and the characters of the area. We will learn about the docks, the subway under the river Ely and about the harsh deprivations that many people endured. He has promised to dispel several Cogan myths and to tell us tales of pirates, smugglers and mystery pubs. Alan's walks are always interesting and colourful, we look forward to seeing you.
