The tower is now converted to residential use but it is easy to see that it had commanding views over the channel.

 

The coastguards lived at number 2 Marine Parade nearby and there is also a rocket shed and carriage house on Holmesdale Place.

The houses on Tower Hill Avenue were all built by the Admiralty to house coastguard staff.
